Road users who have acquired their licence in the last two years could need to take all their driving tests again if they accumulate seven points under the new penalty points system.
The system is set to come into force at the start of next year. It will see drivers gain points against their licence when they commit a traffic offence. This follows a steep rise in the cost of fixed penalty notices.
