We’re ready for no deal on Gibraltar, says Spanish Foreign Minister
The Spanish Foreign Minister has said Spain is ready for a no deal scenario on Gibraltar’s future relationship with the EU, even though it’s not the outcome it prefers.
Speaking to news agency Europapress, Jose Manuel Albares says Spain’s proposal is before the UK, and they have to decide if they want that proposal or not. But he said the current situation cannot carry on indefinitely, and a final decision needs to be made. Mr Albares says Spain’s proposal is reasonable, balanced and fair.
He said he does see a positive attitude from the UK, and insists they will have the last word on the matter.
