Man pleads not guilty to burglary less than a week after being released from prison

man pleads not guilty

A man has pleaded not guilty to burglary just six days after his release from prison.

Glacis Estate resident Christian Baglietto is alleged to have broken into a local bakery, stealing cash from the till one evening last week.

The Crown said he was identified on CCTV, with police later finding the clothes he is said to have been wearing hidden in his oven and behind a washing machine.

Whilst he denied the charge, the Magistrates’ Court heard the man has a long list of convictions for burglary.

Stipendiary Magistrate Charles Pitto said the evidence in the case was strong, as he remanded Mr Baglietto in custody until his next court appearance, set for later this week.
